Chiputneticook Lakes are a set of interconnected lakes located in Aroostook County, Maine, near the Canadian border. They include East Grand Lake, North Lake, Deering Lake, Spednic Lake, and a number of smaller lakes and streams that form part of the St. Croix River system. The lakes are popular for boating, fishing, and other recreational activities, and are surrounded by forests and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, including eagles, osprey, moose, black bears, and deer. The area is also home to several campgrounds and lodges, as well as the Chiputneticook Lakes International Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and ecological health of the lakes and surrounding landscape.
